Actors Co-op opens season with Merrily We Roll Along

Actors Co-op

Actors Co-op opens its 19th Anniversary season with the Stephen Sondheim musical, Merrily We Roll Along, which runs September 17 through October 24, 2010.

Told backward in time from 1976 to 1957, three life-long friends (Brent Schindele as Franklin, Matt Bauer as Charley and Leslie Spencer as Mary) connected by youth and all its promise, confront the present, the past, and the choices each has made. The show is a compelling Broadway fable about friendship, compromise and the high price of success.

Additional members of the cast include Michael Covert, Gina D'Acciaro, Catherine Gray, David Greenman, Sam Melnikov, John O'Brien, Rory Patterson, Ben Ryan, Stephen Vendette and Selah Victor.

Richard Israel will direct the production. He is the recipient of the 2010 Milton Katselas Award for special achievement in direction presented by the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle and previously directed 1776 (LA Weekly Award Nomination for Direction and Outstanding Musical) and Big River for Actors Co-op.

Johanna Kent will act as musical director and John Todd is choreographer. The creative team includes Heather Chesley (Producer) Stephen Gifford (Set Design), Sharon McGunigle (Costume Design), Lisa D. Katz (Lighting Design), Rebecca Kessin (Sound Design) and Doirean Heldt (Stage Manager).
