Liza Night at Musical Mondays
Musical Mondays Los Angeles (Ryan O’Connor and Scott Nevins, Co-Producers/Hosts) presents it first ever Liza Night Monday, August 6th at 10pm at Eleven Nightclub. The show will feature Daisy Eagan, Valarie Pettiford, Tom Lowe, Deborah S. Craig, Julie Garnye, Stephanie Renee Wall, Sarah Wolter and additional performers TBA, in an evening of songs made famous by Minnelli. Cinderella Kids
Granada, in cooperation with Family Theatre at The Grove, is proud to present Disney’s Cinderella Kids. Opening on Saturday, August 11th, performances are scheduled each Saturday and Sunday at 2pm through August 19th. Poor Cinderella is endlessly mistreated by her wicked stepmother and stepsisters, and denied a chance to go to the Royal Ball. With a little help from her mice friends, and a lot of help from her Fairy Godmother, Cinderella goes to the ball, meets the Prince, and falls in love! Come enjoy this timeless tale, which includes musical favorites, "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes" and the classic "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo.” Disney’s Cinderella Kids will charm its way into your heart, and remind you that dreams really can come true. Cabarabia Comes to NoHo Arts Center
One night only - Sunday, August 5th. Joanne Tatham will preview her brand new show with arrangements by Tamir Hendelman, Brad Ellis, Eli Brueggemann and Peter Smith and Brueggemann will be taking the mic (and the piano) while he's on summer vacation from "Saturday Night Live." Directed by Clifford Bell. Manson's Girls
Manson's Girls traces the storylines of a half-dozen of the young women who were involved with the Sharon Tate and LaBianca murders in August, 1969. During the course of the musical, Linda Kasabian joins the Manson Family and transforms from a wide-eyed young runaway from New Hampshire to one of Manson's Girls, capable of committing murder 35 days later. This musical was developed at UC Irvine Department of Drama, featured in the 2012 Festival of New Musicals, and will be presented in concert featuring UC Irvine drama students. NoHo Arts Center. Paul+Chris: Together Again (for the first time)
An evening of musical theatre songs exploring the surprises of friendship, longing, and love. The vocal duo of Paul Marchegiani and Christopher Maikish have been partners in life and music for over a decade, and for one special night, August 14th, they share the stage in song. Madwomen – a New Musical
Presented in concert at the NoHo Arts Center on Tuesday, August 28, 2012; 8:00PM. Songwriter Hannah Johnson is astonished to find herself in a psychiatric hospital with the residents who claim to be the very "madwomen" she learned about in her women's studies class: Vivien Leigh, Zelda Fitzgerald, Mary Todd Lincoln, Camille Claudel, and Queen Juana "La Loca" of Castile. The ladies are determined to break out of the hospital where the enigmatic Doctor Ward has confined them, but are they ready to face the men and the messes they left behind? Book by Marian Partee Lamb, music by Patrick Burns & lyrics by Patricia Zehentmayr. Presented in concert by the Academy for New Musical Theatre.
