Cabaret Comes to the Met Theatre

Musical Theatre of Los Angeles in Association with Canary Productions presents Cabaret, coming to the Met Theatre beginning June 19, 2009. This production has been specially staged to showcase Broadway fanfare in a 99-seat venue.

Cabaret (book by Joe Masteroff, lyrics by Fred Ebb, music by John Kander) became a hit on Broadway in 1996, leading to the acclaimed 1972 film and was adapted from the novel Goodbye to Berlin, by Christopher Isherwood. Set in 1931 Berlin, on the eve of the Nazis' rise to power, Cabaret focuses on nightlife at the seedy Kit Kat Klub and the events revolving around the 19-year-old English cabaret performer Sally Bowles and her relationship with young American writer Cliff Bradshaw.

Cabaret is directed by Judy Norton, best known as Mary Ellen from The Waltons, with choreography by Tania Possick and musical direction by Greg Haake. Featured in the cast are Eduardo Enrikez (Emcee), Kalinda Gray (Sally Bowles), Michael Bernardi (Cliff), Annalisa Erickson (Fraulein Schneider), Jayson Kraid (Herr Shultz), Craig Bachmann (Ernst Ludwig) and Josie Yount (Fraulein Kost).

Cabaret runs June 18th through August 9th, 2009, with opening night June 19th. Performances are at Met Theatre at 1089 N. Oxford Ave. in Hollywood. For tickets and more information go to
