LA Festival Closing Events

The Festival of New American Musicals has just a couple of events left on the summer 2010 schedule (and what a great summer it’s been!), beginning with the FNAM Closing Benefit Party honoring Jason Robert Brown on August 21st at 4:00 pm.

Jason Robert Brown

Jason has invited some of his favorite friends from Broadway, TV & Film to perform with him including Lara Pulver, (True Blood, The Last Five Years), Adam Pascal (RENT), Nita Whitaker (Star Search Grand Champion) and the star of Jason’s 13, Graham Phillips. He’ll also be serenaded by The Theater Geeks of America. It all takes place in Noelle and Tom Hicks’ gorgeous garden in the Palisades. Drinks and food included.

Seating is limited so make your reservation now. Tax deductible contribution, $175 per person, $75 for students. www.lafestival.org/.

The Festival will also be hosting Academy III: A Day of Advanced Song & Dance on Friday, August 27th 9:30am–5pm

This is a rare opportunity for teens ages 15 – 22 to prep for musical theater auditions, college or professional life. Participants will study song interpretation and dance classes with acclaimed performer, Megan Hilty, director Richard Israel and choreographer/director Daniel Mojica, plus they'll attend a master class with top theatrical casting director Michael Donovan that will discuss how to nail an audition.

Tuition is $275 per person and sessions will be held at the Edgemar Theater, 2437 Main Street, Santa Monica 90405. More information about how to register is available at www.lafestival.org/.
