"It's all truth. Sometimes the truth is horrifying, sometimes it's hilarious. But it's never cliché. It's never preachy. It's just the truth."
Patrick Burns returns to The Hayworth Theater in Los Angeles for two performances of his unforgettable one man musical From Foster Care to Fabulous March 12th and 13th at 8:00 pm. Believe me, this is one story you haven’t heard before that you don’t want to miss.
Between the ages of 14 and 17, Patrick lived with four foster families in Oakland, CA. His show details the experience with both original and well-known songs, jaw-dropping anecdotes, and a bizarre cast of horrific, hilarious, and ultimately heartbreaking characters.
Before the main event guests will enjoy a pre-show benefit beginning at 7:00 pm that will feature poetry, an art auction, and music inspired or created by foster children, along with wine and appetizers. A major portion of the proceeds from the benefit will be donated to two organizations:
Fostering Imagination, a program that mentors at-risk, displaced foster youth in Los Angeles through free, structured one-on-one creative arts and social development, and
Peace4Kids, which provides programs and services for foster and at-risk youth to empower them by providing community as family and developing life skills.
The uniquely personal show is written by Patrick Burns, directed by
Negin Singh, assistant directed by
Matthew Chester and stage managed by
Amanda Jean Nowack. Lighting is by
Lucas Leilleholm and the show is made possible by the generous support of the
Puffin Foundation.
From Foster Care to Fabulous will take place March 12 and 13 at The Hayworth Theater, 2511 Wilshire Blvd, LA, CA 90057. Click Here for more information about the show and to purchase tickets.
