Joining the previously announced Larry Raben as Jerry/Daphne and Tracy Lore as Sweet Sue are Nick Santa Maria as Joe/Josephine, Bets Malone as Sugar Kane, Robert Pieranunzi as Bienstock, and Robert Towers as Osgood Fielding, Jr.
SUGAR, the musical version of the classic Billy Wilder film Some Like It Hot, is the story of Joe and Jerry, unemployed musicians who witness the St. Valentine's Day Massacre in Chicago. On the run from the gangster who is hot on their trail, they join Sweet Sue and her all-female band, the Society Syncopaters. This hilarious farce with music by Jule Styne (Gypsy, Funny Girl) and lyrics by Bob Merrill (Funny Girl, Carnival) is sure to make you appreciate the beauty that drives a man mad.
The performance will be presented one night only, Sunday, March 6th at 7pm at the University Theatre, California State University Long Beach (just off 7th Street and East Campus Drive).
Tickets for SUGAR are $20 General Admission (in advance) and ($25 day of the performance). Seating is extremely limited. For tickets call the box office at 562-856-1999 x 4. www.musical.org.
