Kritzerland at the Gardenia Presents Unsung Irving Berlin

Kritzerland at the Gardenia presents Unsung Irving Berlin Wednesday, March 2, 2011 9:00 - 11:00 pm.

The show will feature Dan Callaway (The Phantom of the Opera), Juliana Hansen (Thoroughly Modern Millie national tour), Jane Noseworthy (Disney’s The Princess and the Frog), Kevin Symons (off-Broadway: Wicked City Blues) and Jessica Keenan Wynn (Life Could Be A Dream).

Also performing is Melody Hollis (Susan in Irving Berlin’s White Christmas on Broadway) and special guest Jonelle Allen, Tony Award nominee for Two Gentlemen of Verona. Music Director is A. J. Robb.

The show will highlight a treasure-trove of rare songs from the Bruce Kimmel-produced album Unsung Irving Berlin. You may know Berlin for such songs as “White Christmas,” “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” “God Bless America” and hundreds more, all classics of the Great American Songbook and the Broadway stage. Bruce was invited by the Berlin Estate to browse through a trunk of never-before-heard Berlin songs, which resulted in a critically acclaimed two CD set. While most of the songs being performed are those wonderful and amazing rarities, we couldn’t do a Berlin evening and not throw in a couple of his well-known classics, too.

Dinner reservations begin at 7:00 pm and will guarantee you a table. If you wish to attend show only, please reserve as well, with your phone number as the shows do sell out. All reservations must be made by midnight, March 1.

Cover charge is $15 with a two-drink minimum. There is no drink minimum with dinner. The Gardenia is located at 7066 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90038, (323) 467-7444.
