Jeffrey Polk To Direct Smokey Joe's Cafe

McCoy Rigby Entertainment & FX Arts announce the second in their brand new “Broadway Series” of shows at the Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside, Smokey Joe’s Cafe, one of the greatest, rocking and rolling-est, jukebox musicals ever written. It features songs by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, musical direction by Lloyd Cooper and is directed and choreographed by Jeffrey Polk.

Smokey Joe’s Cafe will open on Friday, November 18 for three performances only through Saturday, November 19 at the Fox Riverside Performing Arts Center, 3801 Mission Inn Avenue in Riverside.

The songs of Leiber and Stoller provide the basis for an electrifying entertainment that illuminates a golden age of American Culture. The show features nearly 40 of the greatest songs ever recorded, including Hound Dog, Stand By Me, Love Potion Number Nine, I'm a Woman, and Jailhouse Rock. It was nominated for 5 Tony Awards and thrilled audiences on Broadway for five years.

The cast of Smokey Joe’s Cafe will feature Lawrence Cummings, Danielle Hobbs, Anthony Manough, Sabrina Miller, Vonetta Mixson, Perry Ojeda, Clifton Oliver, Kelli Provart and John Woodward III.
