Broadway in Burbank, a one-night only special musical extravaganza, will take place on Wednesday, August 15 at 8pm to benefit Bright Eyes Productions. From Gershwin to Sondheim, from Weil to Hamlisch - Broadway In Burbank will be an unforgettable night with twelve fabulous singers appearing for a great cause. Directed by Richard Kilroy with musical direction by Ron Snyder, it will feature performances by Dave Bass, Jessica Buda, Greg Harlan Roth, Larry Davis, David Johnson, Kevin Beatty, Ruby Lewis, Bill Hemmer, Helene McCardle, Diane Pancel and more. The Coterie presents Paul Adelstein’s band DORIS live at the Loews Hollywood Hotel on Saturday, August 18. Adelstein and his band will perform new music from their latest full-length album, All The Details, full of eclectic influences from a Wurlitzer-infused pop jingle to acoustic guitar-laced rock passages with sweeping vocal harmonies. The piano-driven album features 10-tracks of anthemic Randy Newman-esque and Harry Nilsson-styled compositions. Doors will open at 7:00pm for dinner. Showtime is 8:30 pm. Cancelled: My Mother’s Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding announces complete casting for its upcoming staged readings August 19 - 20. Presented as part of the Festival for New American Musicals’ First Look program, MMLJWW is a benefit for the American Foundation for Equal Rights, and the Festival for New American Musicals. Authors and original stars, David Hein and Irene Sankoff, will reprise their roles as themselves. The cast will also include Lisa Horner, who created the role of Claire in the original Toronto productions, Melinda Messenger (Jane), Kate Pazakis (Michele), Anthony Starble (Young David), Christopher Spencer (Garth), and Ashley Whiting (multiple roles). Kate Sullivan Gibbens directs the show, which features musical direction by Patrick Burns

MMLJWW follows Claire Gilman, newly divorced, as she relocates to Ottawa to begin a new life. There she meets Jane, and the pair fall in love. Set against the backdrop of the legalization of same sex marriage in Canada, the show traces the development of their relationship through the eyes of Claire’s son David. The national touring band, Abbey Road – A Tribute to the Beatles is coming to the Grove Theatre in Upland to lend support in a fundraiser for Sunny Oasis Rescue for Dachshunds and Friends. The fundraiser, entitled Helter Shelter, will be held on Saturday, August 25 at 8pm. Singer/songwriter and actor Austin Anderson will open the show with a 25-minute set of his original songs. Raffles and an auction will also take place prior to and during the event. Pre-show events begin at 7pm. Appearances will be made by dogs featured in the recently completed film, "Wiener Dog Nationals," and a there will be a book signing by Amy Caetta who wrote "Geenie and the Weenie Race."
