What's Happening Around Town for January 3, 2013

Chance Presents Triassic Parq
Chance Theater begins 2013 with a touching west coast premiere musical about dinosaurs and love, Triassic Parq – The Musical. Triassic Parq was the 2010 Best Musical winner at FringeNYC, and comes to The Chance straight from an off-Broadway run The New York Times called “Flat-out ingenious.” A fresh new musical with as much heart as raunchy wit, it is the story of Jurassic Park told from the perspective of the dinosaurs. It takes a minor premise from the movie - that a handful of the genetically engineered female dinosaurs have spontaneously turned male - and runs with it until the audience's legs get tired. An epic tale of love, loss and interspecies fornication, these resurrected reptiles will touch you in ways both moving and inappropriate.

The show will be directed by composer & bookwriter Marshall Pailet, (additional bookwriters are Bryce Norbitz and Steve Wargo), who will be Chance Theater’s 2013 Resident Playwright. Choreography is by Kelly Todd and musical direction by Taylor Stephenson. Triassic Parq runs Jan. 25 – Feb. 24 with press openings on Jan 30 & 31. The cast features Alex Bueno, Micaela Martinez, Kellie Spill, Jackson Tobiska, Keaton Williams and Camryn Zelinger. Chance Theater is located at 5552 E. La Palma Ave. in Anaheim Hills. For tickets call (714) 777-3033 or visit www.chancetheater.com.
