Spider Woman next for MTG
The Musical Theatre Guild will present a one-night staged reading performance of Kiss of the Spider Woman on Monday, April 20 at the Alex Theatre in Glendale. The winner of six 1993 Tony® Awards, including Best Musical, Kiss of the Spider Woman is one of Broadway’s most theatrical musicals. It features a tough, gutsy Kander & Ebb score, and tells the complex story of the jailed Molina who escapes prison life by imagining he is visited by his favorite B-movie actress in her role as the sinister Spider Woman. Moving between reality and fantasy, Molina discovers love and heroism before the Spider Woman’s final fatal kiss.
Directed by Randy Brenner, choreographed by Jane Lanier, with musical direction by Darryl Archibald, the cast features MTG regulars Joshua Finkel as Molina, Jennifer Shelton as Spider Woman and Michael Kostroff as the Warden. Rounding out the cast are Linda Igarashi, Susan Watson, Hector Guerrero, Todd Hunter, Robert Mammana, Brandon Michael Perkins, Mark Reis, Ray Rochelle, Jeffrey Christopher Todd, and Paul Wong.
