Irma La Douce, MTG, and A Night in Paris

The 1960’s musical Irma La Douce is the next musical theatre gem presented by Musical Theatre Guild for two nights only - April 19th at the Alex Theatre in Glendale and April 25th at Scherr Forum in the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza.

Set in Paris, this French and West End import revolves around Irma, a carefree Montmartre streetwalker whose life is turned upside down when she falls in love with Nestor le Fripé, a poor law student who assumes the disguise of a rich older man in order to keep her for himself.
Music is by Margureite Monnot, lyrics and book by Alexandre Breffort, English lyrics and book by Julian More, David Heneker and Monty Norman.

The show stars Robin De Lano as Irma and Dan Callaway as Nestor, along with Rudy Tronto, who reprises his role from the original Broadway production. Also featured are Chuck Bergman, Christopher Carothers, Steven Hack, Joe Hart, David Holmes, Michael Kostroff, Roy Leake, Jr., John Massey, Jr., Barry Pearl, Brandon Michael Perkins and Jeffrey Polk.

Roger Castellano will direct and choreograph, and musical direction is by Ron Colvard.

In addition, make sure you come early because on April 19, the Alex Courtyard will also be transformed into a Parisian Boulevard for MTG’s semi-annual Silent Auction.

Beginning at 5:30 PM, you’ll be able to bid on amazing theatre memorabilia, art, spa, restaurant and theatre packages, all to support MTG programming and youth outreach. And, just before showtime, you can participate in a live auction that will include “MTG Delivers,” a one-hour concert created and performed especially for your party or event by Musical Theatre Guild.
