The Grinch is Back!
Jeff Skowron is back as The Grinch in How The Grinch Stole Christmas at The Old Globe this holiday season! I am especially excited because last year’s production was my first experience seeing The Grinch on stage LIVE, and Jeff was my very first Grinch. He was wonderful then and I can’t wait to see him again.
“He swaggers. He oozes. He’s funny. He can do a soft shoe with a top hat and cane and make you believe he was born for the spotlight. And he can also stop you when you least expect it and bring you to tears, for this Grinch is also charming and full of surprises. It’s a true transformation that reminds us just what the season is all about.” (read full article here)
The original production of Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas was conceived and directed by Jack O’Brien with original choreography by John DeLuca. This season’s production features musical direction by Ron Colvard, additional choreography by Bob Richard and restaged choreography by James Vasquez, who also directs.
The show will run November 20 – December 26 and also features a new 11:00 am performance for children of all ages. The annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on Sunday, Nov. 21 at 6:00 pm on the Globe’s Copley Plaza.
Complete casting for the show will be announced at a later date.
I can’t think of a better way to get into the holiday spirit than by seeing Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas. See you there!
