Kritzerland at the Gardenia Presents The Alan Menken Album

On Wednesday April 6th, Kritzerland at the Gardenia will present The Alan Menken Album, a very special evening devoted to the music of Alan Menken. Over the years, Bruce Kimmel recorded many Menken songs with a variety of performers and was the first person to produce an all-Menken CD, The Alan Menken Album, back in the mid-1990s with performer Debbie Gravitte.

The show will feature some of Menken’s hits, but in true Kritzerland fashion, there will be several rare and seldom-heard Menken songs from Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Little Shop of Horrors, Newsies, Sister Act, and more, featuring lyrics by his various collaborators, including Howard Ashman, Stephen Schwartz, Jack Feldman, Tom Eyen, his current lyricist Glenn Slater, and more.

Special guest is Sharon McNight, who was a Tony nominee for Starmites, and is known in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and beyond for her cabaret shows that garner dazzling reviews.

Along with Sharon, the show also features Roger Befeler (Beast in the National Tour of Beauty and the Beast), Dan Callaway (Broadway National Company: The Phantom of the Opera), Kirsten Chandler (The Marvelous Wonderettes: Magenta in The Rocky Horror Show), Juliana Hansen (Millie, Thoroughly Modern Millie, first national tour), Alet Taylor (Adelaide in Cabrillo’s Guys and Dolls; Lick Me/Bite Me The Producers) and Melody Hollis (Susan in White Christmas on Broadway), all under the musical direction of A. J. Robb.

Dinner reservations begin at 7:00 pm and will guarantee you a table. If you reserve for dinner, you will get a phone confirmation. If you wish to attend the show only, please reserve with your phone number, but you will not receive a confirmation. Reservations must be made by midnight, April 5.

Cover charge is $15 with a two-drink minimum.
There is no drink minimum with dinner.

The Gardenia is located at 7066 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90038 (323) 467-7444.
