La Mirada Theatre Announces 2013-2014 Season



La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts and McCoy Rigby Entertainment have announced their “Broadway’s Best” 2013- 2014 season, as they celebrate McCoy Rigby’s 20th Anniversary season with the theatre. Two of the biggest Broadway musical hits ever - CATS and the regional theatre premiere of a brand new production of LES MISÉRABLES – will be featured, as well as a bonus option in the theatre’s new Onstage Series, FLOYD COLLINS. Here’s a look at the complete season.

BROADWAY BOUND 
September 20 – October 13, 2013 (Press Opening September 21)

Neil Simon’s acclaimed autobiographical Pulitzer Prize-winner finds Eugene and his older brother Stanley trying to break into the world of show business as professional comedy writers while coping with their parents break-up and eventual divorce. 

RABBIT HOLE

Becca and Howie Corbett have everything a family could want, until a life-shattering accident turns their world upside down and leaves the couple drifting perilously apart.

GOD OF CARNAGE

Translated by Christopher Hampton
Directed by Michael Arabian
A playground altercation between eleven-year-old boys brings together two sets of Brooklyn parents for a meeting to resolve the matter. At first, diplomatic niceties are observed, but as the evening progresses, and the rum flows, the gloves come off and the night becomes a side-splitting free-for-all.

CATS
April 18 – May 11, 2014 (Press Opening April 19)

Based on the universally popular poetry of T.S. Eliot, CATS tells the story, in song and dance, of the annual gathering of Jellicle cats at which time one special cat is selected to ascend to the Heaviside layer.

This international smash-hit may be the most popular musical in the world. Based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel, Les Misérables is an epic and uplifting story about the survival of the human spirit. 
  
ONSTAGE at La Mirada Theatre Bonus Options, featuring an intimate theatre experience created by placing 199 audience seats on the stage. The stage will be filled with an incredible award-winning musical production and the audience.

FLOYD COLLINS
March 27, 2014 – April 13, 2014 (Press Opening March 29)

With a large cast and live musicians, feel the adventure of Floyd Collins’s dream of fame and fortune as he is trapped in a narrow cave 200 feet below the surface. See how his goal of creating a tourist attraction becomes a reality, with him as the main attraction.
