Colony and La Mirada Theatres Announce 2009-2010 Seasons
The Colony Theatre Company’s 35th anniversary season will open with Ted Dykstra and Richard Greenblatt’s 2 Pianos 4 Hands, June 17-July 26, a play with music that follows the dynamic and comical true journey of two boys with musical aspirations who grow into adulthood fulfilling their dreams. Following that is Jeff Baron’s Visiting Mr. Green August 26-September 27, Better Angels, which will commemorate the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth with a true story of our 16th president, October 21-November 22, and the West Coast premiere of Charles Evered’s Celadine February 3-March 7. The season will close with the musical revue Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris April 7-May 9.For more information, visit www.colonytheatre.org.
La Mirada Theatre’s slate features Cathy Rigby starring in a new production of Steel Magnolias, directed by Brian Kite. Ron Hutchinson’s Moonlight and Magnolias (directed by Andy Barnicle) runs Nov. 6-22; the Tony Award-winning musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, directed by Jeff Maynard, Feb. 5-21, 2010; Buddy-The Buddy Holly Story, directed by Glenn Casale, April 16-May 2, 2010; and Donald Margulies’ Dinner With Friends, directed by Brian Kite, June 4-20, 2010.
