Nobody's Perfect Comes to La Mirada Theatre

Nobody's Perfect

La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts presents Nobody’s Perfect, a Kennedy Center Theatre For Young Audiences on Tour production February 28, 2010 at 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm. Based on the children’s book by Academy Award winner Marlee Matlin and Doug Cooney, this touching new musical reminds us that despite first impressions, nobody’s perfect. It will be performed simultaneously in spoken English and American Sign Language and is recommended for ages 8 and up, and grades 3 and up.

Fourth grade is not easy and after a year planning her “positively purple” birthday party, Megan finds herself at odds with a new student, Alexis. To Megan, Alexis has it all: beauty, brains and athletics…she’s practically perfect in every way. Though Megan tries to be nice to her, Alexis is anything but friendly, making Megan wonder, “Does she not like me because I’m deaf?” When they’re forced to collaborate on a science project, Megan discovers Alexis’ secret.

Nobody’s Perfect is part of La Mirada Theatre’s ongoing Programs for Young Audiences, established in 1977 to present the finest in live entertainment for children and their families. Performances are approximately an hour in length and are performed without an intermission.

Upcoming performances in the series include The Adventures of Harold and the Purple Crayon on March 28, 2010 and Sleeping Beauty on May 16, 2010.
